August 14th, 2008 by yuriEmperor, the gangster movie spawned by the German-Malaysian collaboration of Adrian Lai and Juliane Block, is finally done.
The talented Hoong Bee and I scored the music for the movie, and judging from early reviews, It’s looking like people are liking it.
Here’s an excerpt from a recent review:
“It helps that the music was a top-rate arrangement. I felt that it really captures the feel of the scenes rather well. The music by Yuri Wong and Hoong Bee Lim is subtle, using low, soft riffs that adds a little sinister feel to the scenes. It’s very Chinese/unique/oriental in nature, which fits in nicely with the whole feel of the film.” (Thoughts On Films)”
Man! That review made my day!!
Anyhow, you can purchase the DVD at Indieflix or watch it for free this month at the Portable Film Festival
Oh, and as a bonus to you guys, I’m putting the closing theme music for Emperor for download/streaming in the Music Player on the right - Enjoy!

Love what I’m hearing of the closing theme. Atmospheric — is that a word?

I believe it is Kenny - thanks for the love! My favourite part is the solo violin at the very end.
